Founded in 1020, the Traunkirchen monastery has determined the development of the Salzkammergut for centuries and has now become the focus of cultural and spiritual life again. The historic building has been completely renovated over the course of 20 years with great care and perseverance. Today the monastery is at our disposal in its baroque splendor, in which it was rebuilt by the Jesuits from 1632 to 1730 after a fire.
In addition to the international academy for quantum physics and numerous university events, large congresses and unique festivals and celebrations are also held here.
