Summer fades. Days get shorter. The season shifts. Und dann ist er wieder da: der Liachtbratl Montag – ein Brauch, der tief in der Geschichte unserer Region verwurzelt ist.
The tradition
Liachtbratlmontag used to mark the first day of autumn when artificial light was needed in the workshops again. Candles and lanterns were too expensive in summer. So the journeymen stopped working. The masters donated a roast, accompanied by wine or beer. An act of appreciation that created a sense of community and celebrated the start of the darker season. The custom has been a UNESCO cultural heritage site since 2013 - and remains alive in tradition to this day.
Why we celebrate
We consciously keep the custom alive. It's about welcoming autumn. Sharing time together. Combining tradition with enjoyment. At Poststube 1327, head chef Stefan Griessler and his team invite you to experience this spirit - authentic, contemporary and full of flavour.
This year's Liachtbratlmontag falls on 29 September 2025, with the Dampfplauderer providing live music from 5 pm. Dance, sing along, celebrate - let's celebrate autumn together.
Whether with friends, family or traditionally with your colleagues - this evening is all yours. Full of tradition, sound & good vibes. Perfect way to welcome the season. We look forward to seeing you there.
