Strengthened and warmly dressed, we head to the Hochsteinalm. The hike through the snowy winter forest takes about an hour and never feels long. There are too many little discoveries along the way. Footprints in the snow, the crunching under your shoes, curious glances across the wintry landscape. At the top, the animals are waiting. Alpacas, goats, sheep, donkeys and pigs can be fed and stroked. Closeness comes naturally. Sometimes it's the small things that bring the most joy.
