12.08.2025
from Daniela Kontopirakis

A perfect autumn day in the Salzkammergut. Clear mountain air. Colorful forests. A quiet lake reflecting the light of the autumn sun. That’s how your trip to Hallstatt begins – one of Austria’s most famous places. And the best part: you can travel in comfort by train and bus directly from the Hotel Post am See. No car, no stress.

The Easy Way to Get There.

From Traunkirchen Ort railway station, just a few steps from the hotel, take the train to Steeg-Gosau. 45 minutes of pure autumn scenery.
Change trains in Steeg-Gosau. Another 10 minutes by bus - and you are in Hallstatt Lahn.
Total: about 1 hour. No searching for a car park. No hectic rush. Just sit back and relax.
