Gröller Hospitality has won the OÖ Tourism Award Notos 2025 for a sustainable overall tourist experience. Regionality, enjoyment, and lived responsibility come together here to create unique experiences for guests, employees, and partners.

Upper Austrian Tourism Award Notos 2025 for Gröller Hospitality

Gröller Hospitality submitted its holistic concept with the Hotel Post am See and Das Traunsee - Das Hotel zum See, which ranges from the complete utilisation of regional products and experience-oriented workshops (Culinary Experiences) to active cooperation with suppliers and employees.

Sustainability You Can Feel

For the Gröller family and their 170 employees in both hotels and restaurants(Wirtshaus Poststube 1327, Belétage and Bootshaus) in Traunkirchen, sustainability is not just an empty word, but an attitude that is put into practice - this was recognised by the expert jury of the Upper Austrian Tourism Award on 20 October at the Scalaria Event Resort on Lake Wolfgang with the "Notos" award.

Words That Inspire

The laudatory speech was given by Gregor Wenter, well-known South Tyrolean hotelier (Bad Schörgau) and long-time companion and friend of the Gröller family: "Living and working in harmony with people and nature. The establishments of Gröller Hospitality show how practised responsibility combines enjoyment and sustainability. From the origin of the food and the fair treatment of employees and suppliers to the holistic utilisation of the products. The result is a place where values grow, tradition and modernity intertwine and guests enjoy culinary experiences with attitude." At the end of his speech, Wenter emphasised: "The family sets impulses for the entire industry."

Vision and responsibility

Provincial Councillor Markus Achleitner adds: "NOTOS stands for what the tourism industry is all about: Inventiveness, creative drive, entrepreneurial success and shared responsibility. The projects submitted show impressively how committed Upper Austria's businesses and initiatives are to further developing tourism. Courageous, future-orientated and with a sense of quality."

Regionality That Tells Stories

Guests can experience first-hand how regionality is lived in harmony with nature and people during a visit to the hotels. Workshop formats (Culinary Experiences) such as "Vegetable Whispers" or "The Fisherman and the Chef" blur the boundaries between suppliers, guests and employees. Host Wolfgang Gröller also provides insights when he shows guests his home town of Traunkirchen on a boat trip or tells stories about the schnapps tradition in the Salzkammergut during the "Schnaps Stories". Marcus Volsa, Chef de Bar, teaches those interested the art of preparing the perfect Negroni in a cocktail workshop. Sustainability can be experienced on site all year round.
